2018 Competition

On November 8, 2018 we hosted our inaugural Indianapolis competition at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Economic Story

In the 1970s, downtown Indianapolis had two hotels and a hog-processing plant alongside the White River. Mayor Richard Lugar and a group of  business leaders determined the city’s future by declaring it the “amateur sports capital of the world.” This vision transformed downtown into today’s world-class sports and entertainment district.  Click here for more on the downtown turnaround.

We are committed to seeing more than just downtown Indianapolis improved. Because there are no great cities without great neighborhoods, Commonwealth is building impact-investing deals to bring improvement to the entire city.

Public Good Index

Commonwealth advances market solutions to fix the parts of Indianapolis’ economy that are broken and to increase shared prosperity for all its citizens.  The Public Good Index measures progress toward these goals.
